Here are some photos of HARC members at club meetings.

Looks like an auction. Here's Clint, W4YIZ with some gadget and that's Mike Maples K4ADK at the desk under the blackboard.

L to R (standing with faces toward camera): W4DQJ, K4FPV, W4YHN, K4YKQ, and stepping into the photo from the right is Clint W4YIZ.

L to R: W4DQJ (with cigar) W4YHN and Clint W4YIZ standing with the condenser.

Auction? Look at all the condensers! L to R: Very back row Madell Reynolds, K4AAO, Bill Christian, K4IKR. 2nd row from back wearing sweater Ed Berisford, WA4KMA. Sitting on right side with pipe is WA4EBS and closer to camera is W4YHN.

I do not know the two boys who are squatting on the floor, studying the capacitors and other items.  However, seated in the first row of chairs (left side of the picture) immediately behind the squatting kids are Adrian Clift (the first kid, on the left, whose face you can see) and Jim Stensby, wn4rer (immediately to the right of Adrian).  The first kid immediately behind and to the left of Jim is me, John Stensby, n5df (then wn4res), the dorky-looking kid with the glasses.  I was active in the club from 1963 until my senior year in high school (when chasing girls replaced HARC meetings as my usual Friday night activity).

What you see is an auction taking place in either 1963 or 1964.  At that time, HARC meetings were held at the old Naval Reserve Center (which no longer exists), close to where the VBCC is now.

I enjoyed looking at the old pictures.  I still remember many of the names and faces.

            73,

            John, n5df

      L to R: Bobby Bynum, W4USM and Al, WA4WGF.

We hope you enjoyed this brief look at some HARC meetings. We will try to add more photos as we go along. If you can help identify anyone in any of the above pictures, please let us know. Send a message to: kq4vt@arrl.net
